I’m a Ph.D. student at Iowa State University (ISU) studying engineering mechanics, with a focus on solid continuum mechanics and fluid dynamics. My research is on the topological optimization of solid composite propellants (SCP), work supported by the National Defense Science and Engineering Graduate (NDSEG) Fellowship awarded to me in spring 2026. I received my B.S. in aerospace engineering from Iowa State in May 2025, during which I spent two and a half years as a systems and software engineering intern at Collins Aerospace. I’m currently a fellow in the 2026 Computational Physics Student Summer Workshop at Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL).
Although my education and experience is deeply intertwined with aerospace and national defense, my passion is for computers and consumer technology. I’m deeply fascinated by topics such as compilers, networking, Internet of Things (IoT), and programming language design. I’m drawn to consumer technology because of the fundamental constraints associated with the design and engineering of consumer products—and by the (perhaps naïve) aspiration that improving a product—even marginally—has the potential to directly improve the lives of thousands, millions, or even billions of people, depending on the size of the market.
Outside of tech and programming, I find my happy place listening to music, watching movies, listening to podcasts, drinking coffee, and spending quality time with my close friends. My goals in life are to leave a positive, lasting impact on the world, either through my interactions with the people I meet or the work I do in my career, and to learn everything there is about computers and technology writ large.
